This is hilarious

Thought it was great, really fluent animation. I can't wait to share this with people haha!

you go girl!

A few issues:

i guess my biggest peeve with this, other than its release time (about 5-6 years since the 2nd Matrix) is that the sprite animations themselves feel slow in contrast to the tweened movements of the sprite characters.

For instance when a punch is thrown, it feels slow, however the character's reaction to said punch feels smooth. The tweening was good but the transition from one sprite's frame to the next felt stinted.

Another thing that bothered me was that this fight scene completely ignored a pivotal scene of this fight. Neo didn't run across the bodies and faces of the ring of Smiths while supporting himself with his make-shift staff. This scene is crucial, and the fact that it was missing was upsetting.

Overall this was a good animation, however, I feel that upon looking at this animation with a critical eye (which is what we the reviewers are supposed to do), this animation gets more credit than it truly deserves.

Not terrible, not great. A lot of hard work put into this one and it definitely shows.

LeviFolds responds:

Yeah, I was never an up to the minute kind of guy. Most complaints can be explained in the description, although not directly, if one were to, say, think about it for a moment, they would realize why things may seem slow or why its green, etc. But since most people don't take the time to stop and think, or to read the damn description, I will point these things out for them:

1) Green - the movie had a green tone, so did this one. It may seem overdone but consider the resolution and color palette of SNES games, which is what this was mocked to be like - not a whole lot of options for 'slightly green tones'.

2) Speed - this animation just barely runs on my computer, but runs smoothly which. Think about this though, since many claim the animation is smooth and fast paced, consider that your computer is not as good as you wish it was - 16fps is well fast enough for a sprite movie but if your computer is only pumping out 12 that will make it seem a bit sluggish, off cue, etc.

3) Syncing - since I synced the entire animation to sounds in the movie, I challenged myself to match up appropriate sounds. For example, if it sounds like a punch, have a punch occur. A kick, a scuffle a hard or soft landing on the ground...beyond that limitation, I went with an interpretation in 2-D what was originally a 3-D scene. Instead of X (width) and Y (depth) with a Little Z coordinate (height) I had to compensate for the lack of depth with height. Sure, maybe Neo jumped up a few too many times, but this only saved the viewer from 5 too many slow motion scenes since the only other option during low sound parts would be for Neo to jump kick a Smith 10 yds away for 5 seconds. It just made more sense to do it that way.

And yes, a lot of hard work, so don't vote down because of your uninformed opinion. Most people who simply say 'awesome work' and vote 5 probably realized the aforementioned examples I addressed so they didn't let it affect their opinion.

Is great where it counts...

This is a great flash. It definitely sums up the emos very well.

fulham89 responds:

Why thank you!

Thanks for the great review!

If I were your g/f...

...I'd question your sexuality.

This was a... umm... "unique" Valentine, most certainly. It scared me, I will not lie. Giant dancing rotoscoped hearts and angels dancing about that remind me of a certain animated .gif we've all seen at one point or another are combined with the typical Valentine's Day colours to create the recipies to what's sure to be life ruining trauma to all aged 60 and younger.

I gave it a 3/5 because it's not horrible; it's just frightening!

PureCarnage responds:

Ha... my GF likes it.. or at least pretends to very well.

Some problems with this movie:

There's no lag.
There's not millions of people all around.
There's no "LFG" messages spammed all around

Other than that though, it's really really good. 5/5. GJ! :)

Xiphon responds:

what about trade? Wheres my lightforge set!

No hablo espanol

Pero, me gusta el "Flash"

Okay uhhh so I think I said... "I don't speak Spanish... but, I like the Flash" that was what I was going for, good job!

Anax responds:

Thankful friend. Your words are good so that my futures works can be accomplished. I always hope to have your help commenting my films.

Technical Issues huh?

I don't think that is why it wasn't included. Maybe you and I aren't watching the same movie... but what I saw was pure shit. It sucked. Please move out of Newgrounds.

SeizureDog responds:

Well, not surprisingly, you have no movies under your belt. And btw, yes, it WAS because of technical issues. It's not really an opinion.

Check out my art already, wouldja?
